THE PENSION BOARD OF THE JEFFERSON-COMO FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

The Pension Board of the Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District is composed of the Board of Directors of JCFPD and two of the fire district volunteers.   The Pension Board is specifically responsible for overseeing  the pension finances of The District.

The current Board has the following members:

Doc McKay, President

Doc is the longest serving member of The Board of Directors and is currently serving as the President of the Board.  Doc brings a wealth of knowledge to his job as Board President.  His background includes 28 years in the fire service for the Englewood Fire Department before retiring.  During the course of his career in the fire service,  Doc served as fire fighter, paramedic, driver-operator-engineer, arson investigator, Pension Board member, and  fire officer.  He also has served as a volunteer for the Jefferson-Como Fire District since for over ten years.  His experience helps him contribute to the current Board of Directors.  Doc also has a great deal of business experience having served as a manager of a group of  warehouses with all aspects of budgeting, ordering, etc. being his responsibility.  Doc currently serves as the Chief Building Official of Park County and has overall knowledge of the District area and its needs.  Doc is a resident of Indian Mountain Subdivision.

Jim Linn, Vice President

Jim joined JCFPD in 1996 and serves JCFPD as a volunteer Captain.   He is Vice President of the Board of Directors of JCFPD.  He is one of the managers of the Road and Bridge Department for Park County.  Jim is a resident of Indian Mountain.

Charles (Chuck) Curtis, Secretary-Treasurer

Chuck has served on The Board for a number of years and is second only to Doc as the Board's senior member.  Chuck is a retired John Deere senior advanced designer.  During his career with John Deere Chuck designed combines.  He also worked in the testing lab where the new designs were tested.  Costs and budgeting were a part of his area of responsibility as was the supervision of several other employees.  After retiring from Deere and moving to Colorado from Illinois, Chuck spent several years involved in various areas of construction.  The knowledge and skills of Chuck's past experience make him a valuable member of the board.  He is now a resident of Indian Mountain and spends his time working on his own home, serving his church, and serving on the board of the JCFPD.

Bob Einarson

Bob Einarson joined The Board to fill the vacancy left when Leota Puliam left the Board.   Bob is a well known person in Park County.  He is a retired educator who tirelessly volunteers in many different causes.  In the past Bob has served as a volunteer fire fighter for Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District and as a reserve fire fighter for Jefferson-Como as well.  Bob and Nancy have also raised many thousands of dollars for the JCFPD, building and selling bird houses at Burro Days, the 4th. of July Celebration in Como, and various other locations.  The District owes Bob a debt of gratitude for his many years of commitment to the District.  Bob is a resident of Lakewood and Indian Mountain.

Bernard (Bernie) Petrone

The newest member of The Board is Bernie Petrone.  Bernie is filling the position vacated by Pat New who retired from The Board.  Bernie has been resident of Lost Park Subdivision since 1999.   He is a graduate civil engineer.    His background includes launching and managing a New Jersey company for 30 years that specializes in equipment for the conveying, weighing, drying and dust control industries.  He is currently responsible for sales in a four state area for Process Control Equipment Co.  Bernie's expertise and experience in owning and managing a successful company will be of great benefit to the Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District.
