About Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District MAP COURTESY OF PARK COUNTY MAPPING©2005 CLICK ON THE MAP ABOVE TO SEE AN ENLARGED VIEW The Jefferson-Como Fire Protection District covers an approximately 525 square mile area of Park County, Colorado. The District area extends from Kenosha Pass and the Kenosha Range on the North, to Highway 285 mile marker 188.5 on the South, and from the Continental Divide on the West to a point on the East reached by traveling from 285 Southeast on Park County Road 77 approximately 6 miles past the Tarryall Reservoir. JCFPD provides emergency services within its service area and cooperates with adjoining Fire Districts in providing mutual aid services for their emergencies as requested. If you dial 911 and request assistance within the JCFPD various members of the District will arrive as quickly as possible to aid you. The emergency personnel of the Fire District are a group of dedicated individuals. This group includes a salaried Fire Chief and a varying number of volunteers. These people devote a large portion of their personal time to responding to calls, and securing the training and certifications necessary to provide the services required by the District. The District owes each of them a large debt of gratitude for their devotion to JCFPD. The JCFPD endeavors to provide the District with the highest possible level of service for our 525 square mile area. One of our goals is to keep insurance available to our homeowners. To this end, we are placing stations with equipment around the district and we are creating underground storage of water to insure an adequate supply of water for fire fighting even when rivers and ponds are frozen or empty. We will keep you informed of our progress toward our goals on our JCFPD News Page.
